Taranczewski Paweł (b. 1940) - painter, draughtsman, art critic, philosopher by education (Ph.D. at the Jagiellonian University); son of Wacław; studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków (with W. Taranczewski). Taranczewski); lecturer at the Cracow University of Technology (1982-99; since 1997 professor), the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow (since 1998) and the Papal Theological Academy there (since 2000); works in the spirit of various stylistic conventions: He paints mainly landscapes (Landscape from the Krakow region, 1957; Landscape from Witowice, 1997; Orchard, 1999; Orka, 2005; Ruins of the Abbey, 2005), as well as figural compositions (Orchards, 2001; Death of a Small Painter, 2003) and still lifes (Still Life, 1957; Still Life with Fruit, 1964). He created polychrome paintings in churches (e.g. in Jelonki in Warsaw, 1970; with J. Nowosielski); he is the author of the book O płaszczyźnie obrazu / On the Image Plane (1992). Handsigned and dated, comes with frame.
